The Peugeot e-208 is an electric counterpart of the internal combustion engine model Peugeot 208, introduced in 2012 at the Geneva Motor Show.
The Peugeot e-208, launched in October 2019, also uses the same chassis as the ICE model to allow prospective buyers to choose the drivetrain that perfectly suits their requirements.
Since the e208’s market launch in October 2019, the demand for the EV continuously strengthen.
It was voted “Most Desired Electric Car” in North Macedonia at the Golden Steering Wheel Awards in early 2021. It is also the brand’s first mass-produced EV.
New Features in 2023
The upgraded 2023 e-208 model obtained the same powertrain used by the all-new Peugeot e-308 hatchback model, including a bigger 51 kWh battery pack.
Its power also increased to 156bhp from just 136bhp in the earlier version. Meanwhile, its driving range now hits 248 miles from just 225 miles.
The Active Premium + and the Allure Premium + are equipped with a 50kWh battery pack. Meanwhile, the new GT trim has a 51kWh battery pack.
Design and Aesthetics
a. Exterior design and style
The Peugeot e-208 has a remarkable exterior design. Its front end features sharp headlights with two options:
- Eco LED for Active Premium+
- Full LED tech for GT level
It also boasts vertical daytime running lights, framing the car’s front with fine symmetry. Meanwhile, full headlights are available for the special 3-claw design on GT variants.
Standard feature include:
- Rear side wing doors
- Eco LED headlights

b. Interior design and materials
The materials on the dashboard feel nicely soft. Its steering wheel also uses fine-grain leather, making it look more sophisticated.
The EV also has fewer hard and rough plastics than a Zoe or Corsa-e.
Standard features include:
- Single front passenger seat

c. Build quality and fit and finish
Considering the interior materials mentioned above, along with the e-208’s technologies, its build quality is generally remarkable.
d. Ergonomics and comfort
The driving position is quite weird as it will require drivers to access the iCockpit digital instruments by looking over instead of through the steering wheel.
That said, you need to adjust the wheel or seat to see their current speed. The touchscreen’s 3D effect also makes it more confusing at a glance.
It also offers the following standard features for driver convenience:

- PEUGEOT i-Cockpit with 3.5″ instrument panel display
- PEUGEOT i-Cockpit with compact steering wheel

e. Cargo space and storage
The e-208 is a relatively compact EV; even tall people would find sufficient front space. The back’s legroom is also fair, with generous space for feet below the front seats.
It offers plenty of head and leg room, and the interior is spacious enough to avoid elbow fights between front-seaters.
In addition, it also has remarkable storage spaces, such as the following:
good-sized door bins
- various cubbies
- a tray below the dashboard
- hidden compartment for phone storage
