Uber Technologies will expand the operation of the first all-electric ride service Comfort Electric to 14 new US and Canadian markets. With this recent addition, Uber’s sustainable rides are now available to a total of 40 markets in North America.
The move is a critical part of the leading ridesharing firm’s strategy to further lessen its footprint and achieve carbon neutrality as a mobility platform.

Uber aims to achieve carbon neutrality in Europe and North America by 2030 and globally by 2040. It would not be surprising if the company actually achieved its target, considering its significant projects toward sustainability.
Uber claims it has 37,700 ZEV drivers working in the US, Canada, and Europe as of Q3 2022. Furthermore, it apparently completed approximately 19 million Uber rides with zero-emission vehicles in these three major markets by Q3 of 2022.
