Electric vehicle giant Tesla has just teased an upcoming Spring software update with a wide range of new features for the S3XY lineup. Now, it also disclosed the exciting updates for the all-electric pickup Cybertruck, including a tank turn-like ability.
Tesla to Improve the Cybertruck’s Turning Circle
Tesla has just announced several new capabilities for the Cybertruck as part of the upcoming software update due this Spring.
The Musk-led company plans to improve the electric pickup’s turning circle by 1.6 feet with a new tank turn-like ability. It promises to ease the parking and low-speed maneuvers for Cybertruck drivers.
Cybertruck Lead Engineer Wes Morrill released a brief video on the social media platform X, demonstrating the Cybertruck Release Candidate’s improved turning circle similar to Rivian’s “Tank Turn” demo from 2019.
For context, the Tank Turn is among the highly awaited features for Rivian’s R1T and R1S. However, the company delayed the introduction of the Tank Turn in 2021.
Cybertruck to Offer Powersharing from Vehicle to Home
Tesla’s Cybertruck official X account also disclosed that the Cybertruck would also receive Powersharing from Vehicle to Home capability, enabling the electric pickup to power households via a Universal Home Connector and Powershare Gateway during electric grid outages.
Apart from these, the new software update will also bring the following new enticing features:
- Cabin Overheat Protection
- Horn and lock sounds
- A colorizer
Here are Tesla’s description for each new upcoming feature for the Cybertruck:

Tesla Temporarily Halts Cybertruck Delivery
The all-electric Cybertruck is undoubtedly Tesla’s most innovative offering to date. Nonetheless, the Musk-led company seeks to continuously improve and refine the electric pickup.
However, recent reports claim that Tesla temporarily suspended the delivery of the Cybertruck due to an issue with its accelerator pedal.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) is apparently already aware of the Cybertruck’s accelerator pedal issue, according to Road & Track. It is also now communicating with the electric vehicle giant for additional information to aid the investigation.
