German automaker Audi has just introduced a new, more efficient Q6 e-tron variant, the Performance. This rear-wheel-drive variant of the popular electric SUV offers a more extended range than its all-wheel-drive counterparts, as reported by Timeline Daily.
Audi debuts Q6 e-tron Performance with up to 641 km range
Audi’s new Q6 e-Tron Performance showcases the innovation and flexibility of the Premium Platform Electric (PPE).
The new Performance variant yields a maximum output of 240 kilowatts (kW) and 100 kilowatt-hour (kWh) high-voltage battery. It enables a remarkable WLTP-estimated driving range of up to 641 kilometers (km), making it a strong option for long-distance trips.
It also supports ultra-fast charging, which adds up to a 260 km range in just 10 minutes via high-power charging stations.
Moreover, it can accelerate from 0 to 100 kph in 6.6 seconds.
Expanding the lineup
The Performance variant is a strong addition to the already competitive Audi Q6 e-tron electric SUV lineup.
It currently includes the Audi Q6 e-tron quattro, which has a maximum output of 285 kW and delivers the performance the German brand is known for.
The lineup also offers the SQ6 e-tron variant with a more powerful system output of 380 kW.
“The Audi Q6 e-tron marks the start of a new generation of electrically powered vehicles at Audi. At the world premiere in March of this year, the brand with the four rings presented two variants of the new model: the Audi Q6 e-tron quattro, which offers typical Audi confident performance with a system output of 285 kW, and the sporty SQ6 e-tron with a system output including the additional function of 380 kW.”
Audi indicated in a press release
The new 240 kW RWD variant adds to the electric SUV’s efficiency, making it a compelling option for potential customers who prioritize efficiency, performance, and value within the premium electric SUV segment.
Market availability
The new Audi Q6 e-Tron Performance variant’s order books are already open, according to the report. Interested customers can place an order with a starting price of $75,000.
Audi plans to officially launch the Q6 e-Tron’s all-wheel-drive variants, including the Q6 e-tron quattro and Audi SQ6 e-tron, in the market in August 2024. As for the new Performance variant, Audi plans to kick off deliveries sometime in the third quarter of the year.
