The 2023 Porsche Taycan is a battery-powered saloon produced by German automaker Porsche. Its production-ready model initially debuted at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show. It is the company’s first-ever electric car, so it offers numerous variants at distinct performance levels.
The Taycan marks the brand’s entry into the electric vehicle industry and succeeds admirably.
The Taycan is a technological marvel that can provide great comfort and effortless driving within a moment and then, with the turn of a knob, give a performance that rivals the best in the world.
New Features in 2023
Porsche upgraded the Taycan’s battery and charging algorithm, boosting range and charging speeds.
The automaker will now precondition the car’s battery to a higher temperature, allowing it to hit its maximum 270 kWh charge.
Porsche also updated the EV’s infotainment display with a more responsive user interface and colorful design. It is also now equipped with wireless Android Auto and a charging station locator feature.
Any Taycan trim with a panoramic glass room now comes with a Variable Light Control, initially offered only on Taycan GTS.
Meanwhile, the company stopped offering the painted 19-inch Aero wheels for any trims.
Design and Aesthetics
a. Exterior design and style
The Porsche Taycan is a sleek-looking electric car. Its dynamic, sloping roofline, which Porsche designers refer to as a “flyline,” gives the car its distinctive look. Another distinctive feature is the finely carved side portions. A highly accented rear, typical of the brand, is produced by the svelte cabin (the greenhouse), the drawn-in C-pillar, and the prominent shoulders of the wings. A new age has also begun, as seen by the sports saloon’s revolutionary features like the glass-effect Porsche emblem in the rear light bar and clean, pure approach.
b. Interior design and materials
The interior design of the Porsche Taycan is remarkably simple, similar to other Porsche models. Nonetheless, it features a wide range of rich materials and various color schemes. It also comes standard with a partial leather interior, front comfort seats with eight-way electrical configuration.
c. Build quality and fit and finish
The 2023 Porsche Taycan has an exceptional build quality and comfort. The build quality is superior to that of its competitors, the three (or four) screens’ cutting-edge technology blends well with the plush leathers and firm seats, and there is no road or wind noise. Additionally, if the driver is into it, the Taycan offers a ton of eye-catching design.
d. Ergonomics and comfort
The Taycan is standardly built with 2+2 seating. However, customers can opt for a third row at the back if desired.
It also offers many luxury features, including the following:
- four-zone climate control
- massaging front seats
- a heated steering wheel
- heated rear seats
e. Cargo space and storage
The storage space of the Porsche Taycan is somehow lacking. Its front trunk offers a 2.9 cubic-feet of storage space, while its trunk only has 14.3 cubic-feet.

b. Value Proposition
The 2023 Porsche Taycan is worth the investment if you desire a brilliant electric car with real driving pleasure. It offers remarkable handling and a classy interior.
The Porsche Taycan boasts endless acceleration and rapid recharging capability. However, it does not have the most range, and its fast-charger port is located only on one side of the car.
We’d suggest the more economical all-wheel-drive Taycan 4S, which has a 522-hp powertrain, 19-inch wheels, adjustable air suspension, a partly leather inside, and keyless entry, even if the Taycan Turbo and Turbo S deliver performance on pace with supercars. Upgrade to the Performance Battery Plus, increasing the combined hp rating to 562.
