If the current trend persists, plug-in car sales can potentially hit one million units again monthly.

Battery electric vehicle sales reached approximately 562,900 units with a 9.7% market share. Plug-in hybrids sold around 249,500 units and 4.3% market share. Overall, the global plug-in car registrations were 812,487 units.

Global plug-in car sales reached nearly 1.5 million units in the first two months of 2023. That figure represents 13% of the overall market.

Best-selling models
American EV giant Tesla continues to dominate the plug-in car market with its Model Y, reaching 81,079 sales in February.
The Chinese model BYD Song Plug family trails behind the Model Y by a wide margin with a combined sales of 52,644 units.
Another Tesla EV Model 3 got in the top 10, ranking third with sales of 36,863 units.
The top five were completed by BYD Yuan Plus or “Atto 3” (32,215) and Wuling Hong Guang MINI EV (30,271).
