Electric vehicle giant Tesla officially debuted the facelifted Model 3 Highland at the IAA Mobility Auto Show in Munich on September 5 to 10.
In a significant advancement, Tesla has published a promotional video from its Chinese engineering and design team. It essentially highlighted the new model’s enticing features and technologies.
Video highlights
Tesla China initially posted the video on a local platform, Weibo. Then, Chinese Tesla fan Xiaoteshushu shared the video on X, formerly Twitter.
As you can see in the video, Tesla Vehicle Engineering VP Lats Moravy outlined the various tests they conducted for the new Model 3. These tests were as follows:
- Stability of the vehicle
- Wet handling
- Road noise
- Wind noise
Tesla expects these tests to aid the team in determining the electric car’s overall composure and stability while driving.
The team can identify which areas need improvement to satisfy its customers through these tests.
The Driven noted Tesla’s discovery that it needed to install dual-pane glass throughout all windows rather than just the front area to enhance the Highland’s road and wind noise. By doing so, the car can offer a more controlled cabin noise and a sense of seclusion from other cars while on the road.
In addition, Tesla upgraded a new shock-absorbing feature called “frequency selective damping” to enhance the car’s ride comfort without compromising the handling capability.
“Not only is it more performance, but it’s also funner to drive and rides better, it’s the kind of car I always wanted.”
