India’s Tata Power signs an MoU with NAREDCO to build EV Charging Infrastructure across Maharashtra.
On Thursday, Tata Power signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the National Real Estate Development Council (NAREDCO) to install 5,000 EV Charging points across Maharashtra, India, as reported by Bloomberg Quint. The MoU was signed in the presence of Aaditya Thackeray, Minister of Tourism & Environment, Government of Maharashtra, at the Real Estate Forum 2022.
The statement said that Tata Power will provide comprehensive EV charging solutions across properties of member developers of NAREDCO. This will include installation, maintenance, and upgradation of the chargers as and when required.
Dr. Praveer Sinha, CEO& Managing Director of Tata Power, said in a statement: “The move will put an efficient electric vehicle ecosystem closer to the end-user, allowing us to contribute to the national aim of a rapid transition to green mobility,”
With this project, EV owners in NAREDCO’s member developers’ properties will have access to services such as 24×7 vehicle charging and monitoring. Using Tata Power’s EZ charge mobile app, EV owners can locate EV charging stations and pay bills online through its e-payment facility services.
These chargers will be available as public and semi-public charging stations based on the nature of the premises. This will also help commuters to have easy access to the chargers, encouraging them to use electric vehicles.
This project will give a boost to Maharashtra’s electric vehicle adoption.
