According to Cartoq, India’s largest auto content company, the all-new Sierra will be available in 2025, offering both an EV and a turbo-petrolpowertrain.

The model was already shown at the Auto Expo 2020 as a concept. Cartoq reported that the new Tata Sierra kept the DNA of the original version.

Changes to Note in the New Tata Sierra SUV

According to Cartoq, these are the few changes Tata Motors made to the Tata Sierra SUV, even if the general design appears to be heavily influenced by the Sierra EV concept:

  • The body shell
  • A five-door set-up with conventionally operating doors (the concept had a three-door set-up)
  • New alloy wheels
  • The height of the bonnet – more upright and flatter
  • Futuristic look for the new faux grille with headlamps connected with a chrome stripe
  • Offering blacked-out C and D pillars
  • A large glasshouse (reminds you of the original model)

Here is the new Tata Sierra EV, unveiled at Auto Expo 2023! Still not the production version but it is getting close! This one is far more realistic a concept than the last one. What do you think of the styling? #2023AutoExpo #AutoExpo2023 @TataMotors @Tatamotorsev pic.twitter.com/VC3Vfwo4bo

The All-New Sierra EV

Cartoq reported that the new model would offer both an electric and a turbocharged gasoline engine. Tata will introduce the brand-new Sierra on a Gen 2 platform. Just like Tata’s Harrier EV, the Gen 2 platform will bring greater range, more room for batteries, and a more robust electric motor.

All-New Sierra Electric Version

The electric version of the vehicle will:

  • Offer AWD set-up dual motors
  • One motor on each axle will provide individual power to the front and rear wheels. (similar to a Harrier EV, but Tata has not revealed any details on the Harrier EV)

All-New Sierra Turbo-Petrol Engine Version

According to Cartoq, the all-new Sierra will probably only come with a petrol engine option, unlike the Harrier and Safari, which don’t offer any petrol engines. Additionally, the lineup won’t include any diesel engines.

Cartoq added that the new Sierra might be the first car to get the latest engine. Aside from that, the Turbo-Petrol Engine version will also acquire things such as:

  • Likely to offer a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine
  • The engine will be based on the 1.2-liter power unit (the same engine used in the Altroz and Nexon)
  • An extra cylinder to ensure a bump in power
  • Likely produce around 160 Bhp of maximum power

Tata Motors’ Internal Combustion Engine

On a different powertrain, Tata also displayed the Tata Curvv, presented earlier as an electric vehicle (EV) concept powered by an internal combustion engine (ICE). Along the same lines, we may anticipate the Sierra EV and ICE models coexisting, Cartoq reported.

Cartoq also reported that Tata Motors’ top model, the Sierra, will be priced in the same range as the Jeep Meridian and Hyundai Tucson.
