Spy shot details

The speculated Tata Harrier EV is extremely disguised with a polka dot-designed cover, as shown in the spy shot.

It features a new design, a bonnet-size DRL design. However, it has a similar alloy wheels and tail light design as the current ICE counterpart. Moreover, it has a blanked-off flat slat design grille and split LED headlights. Its front camera is integrated under the Tata logo.

Its interior offers a larger floating infotainment system and a concealed 4-spoke steering wheel. It also seems to have an electronic parking brake and digital instrument cluster. It also features touch-based HVAC controls and a panoramic sunroof.

“HARRIER.EV, a Bold, Powerful, Intelligent, Electric All-wheel drive SUV, born of legendary pedigree, offers an extraordinary exterior design and future ready connectivity.”

Some of the spy shots also revealed the underbelly of the car’s rear, showing no tailpipe.

The absence of the tailpipe sparks more speculation that it is indeed the Tata Harrier’s EV variant. Moreover, it also features the same front fascia as the production-ready prototype exhibited at the recent Auto Expo 2023.

Technical details

Tata has yet to announce the official specifications of the Harrier EV. However, Motor Octane suggests that it may feature a 60 kWh to 70 kWh battery pack.

It is also expected to enable a claimed driving range of approximately 550km and a real-life range of 400km. It will also have an all-wheel-drive (AWD) powertrain configuration, as confirmed by the automaker in an interview.

Timeline

Tata Motors Managing Director Shailesh Chandra announced in his previous interview that the company aims to launch its planned four new EV models in 2024, including the Harrier EV.

The local publication also estimates the model to have a price range of Rs 27 lakh to Rs 35 lakh (on-road, Mumbai).

The all-electric Tata Harrier EV is expected to arrive by the end of 2024.

It is built on the Omega architecture derived from the Land Rover D8 platform.
