“Our commitment to carbon neutrality in 2038, ahead of all our competitors, benefits France, where we are, and will continue to be the commercial and industrial leader with 12 Stellantis electric models manufactured with pride and passion by our employees in our 12 assembly and component plants,” said Stellantis CEO Carlos Tavares.

“By choosing to produce the future Peugeot e-308 and e-408 at our Mulhouse site, Stellantis confirms that it is giving each of its French industrial sites a future for the ‘post-combustion era,’ thanks to a forward-looking approach based on co-construction with our social partners.”

Moreover, the Stellantis CEO and the President of the French Republic, Emmanuel Macron, announced the Mulhouse facility would produce the future Peugeot e-308 sedan and station wagon and Peugeot e-408.

In addition, the company aims to have 12 battery electric vehicles (BEVs) manufactured in France in five factories with one million vehicle manufacturing capacity installed by 2024.

Its batteries, e-DCTs gearboxes, and key electric components (e-motors) will be produced in seven sites using French technologies in France.

The automaker also had key production announcements such as the DS Automobiles‘ New DS 3 E-TENSE, DS 4 plug-in hybrid version, the New DS 7 E-TENSE 4×4, and the DS 9 Opéra Première.
