As Stellantis aims to launch an additional 28 all-battery electric vehicles through 2024, the company used the 2022 Paris Motor Show as a fitting stage for the brand to present its broad range, capabilities, and future plans, as per Mopar Insiders.
“Our commitment to carbon neutrality in 2038, ahead of all our competitors, benefits France, where we are, and will continue to be the commercial and industrial leader with 12 Stellantis electric models manufactured with pride and passion by our employees in our 12 assembly and component plants,” said Stellantis CEO Carlos Tavares.
“By choosing to produce the future Peugeot e-308 and e-408 at our Mulhouse site, Stellantis confirms that it is giving each of its French industrial sites a future for the ‘post-combustion era,’ thanks to a forward-looking approach based on co-construction with our social partners.”
Moreover, the Stellantis CEO and the President of the French Republic, Emmanuel Macron, announced the Mulhouse facility would produce the future Peugeot e-308 sedan and station wagon and Peugeot e-408.
In addition, the company aims to have 12 battery electric vehicles (BEVs) manufactured in France in five factories with one million vehicle manufacturing capacity installed by 2024.
Its batteries, e-DCTs gearboxes, and key electric components (e-motors) will be produced in seven sites using French technologies in France.
The automaker also had key production announcements such as the DS Automobiles‘ New DS 3 E-TENSE, DS 4 plug-in hybrid version, the New DS 7 E-TENSE 4×4, and the DS 9 Opéra Première.
Furthermore, the company also unveiled the new Jeep Avenger, PEUGEOT 408, PEUGEOT E-208, and the Peugeot Inception Concept.
Stellantis also hosts a stand located in the Electric and Hydrogen Professional Mobility Zone (Hall 3), where guests can discover more about the first hydrogen fuel cell vans in the industry. The carmaker presents 20-30 minute test drives in the Citroën ë-Jumpy Hydrogen and the Peugeot e-Expert Hydrogen at the show.
The brand’s electrified lineup at the 2022 Paris Motor Show supports its significant Dare Forward 3030 ambitions. Such as a carbon net zero by 2038%, with 50% carbon emissions reduction by 2030, a 100% BEV passenger car sales mix in Europe, and 50% in the US by the decade’s end. Also, it aims to offer more than 75 BEVs and reach a global annual sales of five million BEVs by 2030.
