According to a prominent Chinese media, Landian translates to “blue electricity.”

What is currently known about the Landian E5?

Variants and pricing

Landian’s first offering, E5, is a mid-size plug-in hybrid SUV. It has two variants with five- and seven-seat configurations.

The entry-level variant costs RMB 139,900 ($20,330), while the top trim is RMB 151,900.

Chongqing SERES Lan Dian Automobile Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of SERES Group, on Mar. 30 launched an new NEV brand “Lan Dian” . The 1st production model under the new sub-brand, the Lan Dian E5 SUV, hit the market at the same time with a starting price of 139,900 yuan. #gasgoo pic.twitter.com/OO67NcTilS

Dimension

Given that E5 is a mid-size SUV, below are its dimensions:

  • 4,760 mm long
  • 1,865 mm wide
  • 1,710 mm tall
  • 2,785 mm wheelbase

Power and performance

As for the technicalities, the E5 utilizes the DE-i electric drive platform developed by its parent company Seres Group. It is worth noting that the said platform is equipped with the following technologies:

  • F31A 1.5L PHEV-specific engine
  • DHT300 electric hybrid system from BYD’s FinDreams Power

The SUV’s engine boasts 81 kW max power and 135 Nm torque. Meanwhile, it’s electric motor enables 130 kW max power and 300 Nm max torque. Even further, it has an acceleration speed of 0-100 km/h in just 7.4 seconds.

The E5 has a 100 km NEDC range, a 110 km battery range, and a total 1,150 km WLTC range on full fuel and a full charge.

System

Another remarkable detail is that Huawei’s HiCar 3.0 system is integrated into the Landian E5, which supports seamless connectivity with mobile phones.
