French automaker Renault has finally released the new Trafic Van E-Tech, an all-electric counterpart of its popular Trafic van.

It is the latest addition to the brand’s electric light commercial vehicle (LCV) lineup, following the Kangoo Van E-Tech and Master E-Tech electric.
Technical details
The Renault Trafic Van E-Tech features a 52 kWh li-ion battery that enables a WLTP-estimated driving range of up to 297 km on a single charge, the press release outlined.
Meanwhile, the Long Range variant has a top speed of 56 mph (90 km/hour) and a driving range of up to 200 miles (322 km) between chargers, InsideEVs asserted.
It also has an electric motor with a 90 kW (122 hp) maximum output and “245 Nm of instantly available torque,” Renault claims.
The automaker’s engineering team also equipped the new model with ARBS (Adaptative Regenerative Brake System) to improve and maximize its energy recovery.
“This version is like all other electric LCVs from Renault: it cuts no corners on its ICE counterparts’ strengths, providing high level of performance along with ample choice and customisation possibilities.”

Key features
Renault boasts that the new Trafic Van E-Tech has superior dimensions, versatility, and storage qualities.
The all-electric van offers two body lengths (5.08 meters and 5.48 meters) and two heights (1.967 meters and 2.498 meters, the press release noted.
Its load space in van mode is 5.8 cu. meters- 8.9 cu. meters. Meanwhile, the L2 extended variant has a maximum load space of 4.15 meters.
It also has a maximum towing capacity of 750 kg and a payload capacity of 1.1 tonnes.
It also offers superior customization possibilities in the company’s 359+ certified vehicle body makers.
As for the storage, it has an additional 88-liter space from the console (19.7 liters), doors (14.6 liters), and bench (54 liters).
It also offers a “mobile office” when owners fold the middle seat, using the back as a desk with storage space for a notepad. It can also be used as a meal table.
Charging technology
Renault further shared that the new Trafic Van E-Tech is compatible with three charger types:

Renault will officially begin selling the new Renault Trafic Van E-Tech in the European market in October. Meanwhile, it will start deliveries as early as November. Renault’s Sandouville plant will oversee the new-gen model’s production.
