German high-performance automaker Porsche will celebrate its 75th anniversary on a special live stream event on June 8, the same day the company’s first-ever car, the 356, received the general operating permit in 1948.
As part of the special event, Porsche announced plans to unveil the “Sports Car of the Future.” The live stream event will have a German and English version, starting at 9:40 pm (CEST).
What to expect?
Porsche asserted that it will employ music, lights, and choreography presentations focusing on five themes: “Heritage, Zeitgeist, Performance, Pioneering Spirit, and Dreams.”
However, the most exciting part of the event is not the party but the yet-to-be-unveiled sports car.
Porsche has not disclosed any specific information about the new sports car except that it “will offer a look forward to its vision of the sports car of the future.”
The Drive suggests the mysterious car could be the impending electric Porsche Boxster. It is an electric sports car that fits the brand’s vision of the future. In addition, it is a roadster, making it a symbolic vehicle to unveil on the 75th anniversary of the 1948 356 Roadster. Considering how Porsche frequently incorporates “vision” in the names of its concept cars, this unidentified sports car may actually be a concept model.
