AOL added that according to Reuters, a news agency, Porsche was previously hesitant to employ Google software due to worries about data sharing. Still, those concerns appear to be on the way to being addressed.

According to AOL, Google Automotive Services (GAS), an incorporated software package, is used by GM, Ford, and Nissan.
Polestar, owned by Volvo and China’s Geely, powers its infotainment system using Google’s Android Automotive platform.
Porsche’s 2022 Record: Things to know about Porsche’s 2022 success
AOL reported that Porsche released its final delivery figures for 2022 earlier today, reporting a 3% increase in global deliveries. AOL added that:
· Porsche announced 309,884 global deliveries, making them the most valuable European automaker by market cap.
· Despite a 2% decline in sales, China is Porsche’s largest volume market.
· Europe (apart from Germany) saw its share increase by 7%, Porsche’s home market Germany increased by 3%, while North America remained unchanged.
· In North America, the US saw record-breaking auto sales, with 70,065 vehicles sold. Delivery numbers for the famous Porsche 911 and Cayenne SUV rose in 2022, but those for the Macan SUV and 718 sports vehicles marginally declined.
· The Taycan EV, now Porsche’s only battery-electric vehicle, was another vehicle that experienced an unexpected decline in sales.
Additionally, Porsche claims that even though sales decreased by 7,271 units or 22.8%, it wasn’t due to a lack of demand. AOL added that Porsche stated that despite supply chain concerns slowing delivery, demand for the Taycan “remained strong” in the United States. As where Porsche encountered problems with its supply chain worldwide.
In a statement about worldwide deliveries, Detlev von Platen, Porsche executive board member for sales and marketing, talked about the challenges caused by the uncertain international situation, interrupted supply chains, and the ongoing semiconductor crisis that have shaped the past year and put us to the test.
According to AOL, regarding Porsche’s chances in the US, it’s probable that demand for the Taycan EV and the future Macan EV may increase due to potential changes to federal tax incentives and lease regulations.
AOL added that according to IRS interpretation, the federal EV tax credit can now be used with commercial leases (where a bank or finance firm owns the vehicle). This may enable the lessee to receive a cheaper payment without complying with the income cap or country of origin requirement.
