Ola Electric, a company that manufactures electric vehicles, announced on Saturday that it plans to establish an EV Hub in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu.
This hub will include Batteries and EV production facilities, vendor and supplier parks, and other amenities.
According to the information provided by the company, the EV Hub has the potential to become one of the most extensive ancillary ecosystems for electric vehicles in a single location.
2,000 acres EV hub
Earlier in the day, Ola Electric signed a memorandum of understanding with the government of Tamil Nadu in the presence of Chief Minister M K Stalin.
The agreement commits investments totaling 7,614 crores, allowing the facility to produce electric cars and lithium-ion cells.
In the state, these investments would result in the creation of 3,111 new jobs.
At the production facility that the company has in Tamil Nadu, the OLA EV Hub would take up approximately 2,000 acres of land and be spread out across its entirety.

World’s largest advanced cell research and development center
An investment of USD 500 million went into Ola’s cutting-edge Battery Innovation Centre in Bengaluru, which resulted in the construction of the company’s first Lithium-ion cell, the NMC-2170, which was introduced one year ago.
The Battery Innovation Centre is one of the world’s most extensive and advanced cell research and development centers.
It has more than 200 pieces of lab equipment that are both unique and state-of-the-art, and it is designed to cover all aspects of research and development related to cells.
According to the information provided by the company, the world-class innovation center is outfitted with the necessary tools to create complete packages of battery pack layout, fabrication, and testing under one roof.
