2,000 acres EV hub

Earlier in the day, Ola Electric signed a memorandum of understanding with the government of Tamil Nadu in the presence of Chief Minister M K Stalin.

The agreement commits investments totaling 7,614 crores, allowing the facility to produce electric cars and lithium-ion cells.

In the state, these investments would result in the creation of 3,111 new jobs.

At the production facility that the company has in Tamil Nadu, the OLA EV Hub would take up approximately 2,000 acres of land and be spread out across its entirety.

Our Prime Minister Narendra Modi has envisioned the next 25 years as Amrit Kaal in India. This is our decade, and we have a great opportunity to build our future. We are on the right track to becoming a global hub for EVs,

Ola’s EV Hub will bring the entire EV ecosystem under one roof, making us a much stronger vertically integrated mobility company across 2-wheelers, 4-wheelers, and cells

An investment of USD 500 million went into Ola’s cutting-edge Battery Innovation Centre in Bengaluru, which resulted in the construction of the company’s first Lithium-ion cell, the NMC-2170, which was introduced one year ago.

The Battery Innovation Centre is one of the world’s most extensive and advanced cell research and development centers.

It has more than 200 pieces of lab equipment that are both unique and state-of-the-art, and it is designed to cover all aspects of research and development related to cells.

According to the information provided by the company, the world-class innovation center is outfitted with the necessary tools to create complete packages of battery pack layout, fabrication, and testing under one roof.
