Chinese luxury electric automaker NIO reported global sales/deliveries of 6,155 battery electric vehicles in May as part of its monthly delivery update. Notably, that sales result represents a slight year-on-year decline of 12% from 2022’s record of 7,024 and a month-on-month decline from 6,658 unit sales in April.
It is worth noting that the Chinese Tesla rival usually has over 6,000 monthly sales. However, the automaker’s shift to NT2.0-based models from the older NT1.0-based models affected this latest result.
As usual for Chinese automakers, most of their sales are concentrated in their home market, China.
