Starting today, the NIO App will no longer display the anticipated delivery date for the electric vehicle manufacturer’s flagship sedan, the ET7. It marks the first time in the past month that the wait times for the company’s models have been modified.
The NIO App displays eight different models at the moment. These include the older ES8, ES6, and EC6 models based on the NT 1.0 platform and the newer ES8, ES7, EC7, ET7, and ET5 models based on the NT 2.0 platform.
At NIO Day 2022, which took place on December 24, 2022, the EC7 coupe SUV and the new ES8 were introduced to the public for the first time. Deliveries were scheduled to begin in May and June of 2023, respectively.
ET7 updated version
The current wait periods for the other NIO models have stayed the same. The most recent update to this information was made on February 14, when the wait times for the ES7 and ET7 tests went from the previous 3-4 weeks to approximately three weeks. The wait times for the ET5 test went from around three weeks to 2-3 weeks.
The most recent action taken by NIO occurred when there was an increase in the number of conversations taking place on social media about an updated version of the ET7.
Several NIO followers are now expecting a facelift of the sedan one year after deliveries first began. These NIO followers can be found in several WeChat groups where CnEVPost is present.
On March 10, longtime NIO follower and auto blogger @ev@肉肉爸比ev dropped a hint that a redesigned version of the ET7 is likely on the way soon.
“Are people that concerned about the ET7 facelift? Let’s just say the 2023 ET7 may be coming soon.”
@ev@肉肉爸比ev , NIO enthusiast and blogger
According to the blogger, the new ET7 will remain the same, and NIO might give upgrade choices to owners of the current model. The blogger also mentioned that customers interested in the ET7 might decide to wait and see for now.
NIO ET7 hit new monthly sales in 2022
NIO unveiled the ET7, its first sedan, on January 9, 2021, at the NIO Day 2020 event, with deliveries beginning March 28, 2022.
The ET7 was placed No. 10 in a ranking of premium sedans beginning at more than RMB 300,000 ($43,440) by the China Passenger Car Association (CPCA) in April 2022, its first entire month of delivery, with 693 retail sales.
CNEVPOST reports that the ET7 sales increased after deliveries began, hitting an all-new quarterly peak of 4,349 units in June 2022.

The ET7 delivered around 3,000 units monthly for last year’s second half. However, in December, deliveries fell to 1,379 units, losing the CPCA’s standings of premium sedan sales for the first time.
This year, NIO stopped reporting ET7 figures in its quarterly shipping statistics. Still, CPCA data shows that the sedan supplied 521 units in January and 649 units in February.
The CPCA statistics depend on data published by automakers. The ET7 overall sales in its monthly standings are constant with data previously released by NIO.
