MINI has declared that it will introduce three brand-new electric vehicles sometime next year.

The brand received support from the EV community after its first electric model MINI Cooper SE‘s launch. The success of this car has even resulted in awards being bestowed upon it by KBB. It discovered that MINI had the greatest number of satisfied customers of any company in the sector.

According to Autocar, the automaker will unveil its trio of EVs over the following year.

The all-new Aceman electric crossover and Countryman EV SUV

MINI will release three electric vehicles, which include the next-generation Cooper. The other two are the all-new Aceman electric crossover and the Countryman EV SUV, which is slightly larger.

Teslarati reports that the first launch will occur in February of the following year and will be the first generation of the electric Countryman.

The electric Countryman will be MINI’s first electric SUV. It is designed to compete with Tesla’s Model Y, despite having a form factor that is a little bit more compact. After this comes the more compact 4-door MINI Aceman, which will be unveiled in the coming year but will go on sale at the beginning of 2025 (although it will be revealed in the coming year).

In sum, the ever-popular next-generation MINI Cooper will earn its next iteration in the coming 12 months. However, the brand has remained tight-lipped about a specific release date at this time.

All of these models will add value to MINI’s goal of selling 50% of electric vehicles worldwide by 2025, which would be an increase from the current sales percentage of only 15%.

MINI has revealed some of the most detailed images of the vehicle since it was rumored that the electric Countryman was being tested a year ago.

Second-gen electric Cooper

MINI has announced the release of some details regarding the forthcoming second-generation electric Cooper.

The all-new MINI Cooper electric will be built on the all-new “Spotlight” EV platform, and it will come with two battery options, either 40 kWh or 54 kWh.

It will also come with two motor options, one with 181 horsepower and the other with 215 horsepower. Although MINI has yet to provide information regarding the maximum range achieved with the larger battery, they have mentioned that the vehicle will have the lowest range of approximately 240 miles.

Unfortunately, the MINI Cooper electric will experience a modest price increase in addition to the performance boost accompanying the upgrade.

According to executives from MINI, Cooper electric will have a starting price in its home market of England just north of 30,000 pounds ($35,567). It represents an increase from the vehicle’s recent base price of just 29,000 pounds.

MINI to keep the “go-cart” concept

None of the models will be constructed in the United States, so none will be eligible for the current federal EV incentives. It may be an even more frustrating fact for American buyers.

The Countryman and the Aceman will be manufactured in facilities located in Germany. In contrast, the production of the electric Cooper has moved from Oxford, England, to China.

The price increase will undoubtedly have the effect of lowering demand for vehicles. However, the increased capabilities of the vehicles make them significantly more appealing than the first-generation offering from the brand in the United States.

With the assurance of keeping MINI’s “go-cart” feeling, any of these awaited offerings may appeal to those seeking an engaging vehicle with a price point in the middle.
