American electric automaker Lucid previously announced plans to update the current Air family for the 2024 model year, which launched sales on December 5.
The 2024 Lucid Air lineup offers four variants, including the base model Pure, Touring, Grand Touring, and top-tier Sapphire. Notably, the Pure variant only has the new rear-wheel drive (RWD) configuration as the company killed the AWD setup.
In addition, Lucid also dropped the previous Grand Touring Performance. It will disclose more details about the new GT in early next year. The Sapphire is also a new Air variant.
Without further ado, here is the notable changes to the new 2024 Lucid Air lineup.
Pricing
The Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) for the 2023 Lucid Air family is apparently one of the most notable changes compared to the outgoing 2023 model year, as noted by InsideEVs.
The Pure RWD variant has a base price of $77,400, indicating a $10,000 reduction from the initial price expectation. However, it excludes the $1,575 destination charge.
The Touring AWD’s base price declined from $107,400 a year ago to $85,900 today. Meanwhile, the Grand Touring AWD has yet to launch for sale, but it originally had a base price of $179,000.
Lastly, the new Sapphire variant starts at $249,000. Refer to the table below:

As you can see in the table above, all Lucid Airs topped the price cap for the IRA’s federal tax credits of up to $7,500.
EPA range
The EPA’s official website currently only includes the 2024 Lucid Air Pure RWD and Sapphire.
Meanwhile, the Touring AWD version’s EPA range is available on Lucid’s website. The brand has yet to reveal the Grand Touring AWD’s new EPA-estimated range.
The base model Lucid Air Pure features an 88 kWh gross battery capacity with 16 modules. The 19″ wheels car has an EPA Combined range of 419 miles, but it drops by 6% to 394 miles with the optional 20″ wheels.
On the other hand, the 2024 Lucid Air Touring AWD’s EPA range is lower than the 2023 model year with a similar 92 kWh battery (18 modules) due to an “updated EPA range testing protocol.”

Lucid has yet to disclose the EPA range for the Grand Touring AWD. For reference, it was 516 miles (19″ wheel version) and 469 miles (20″-21″ wheels) in the 2023 model year. The 2024 Lucid Air Sapphire has an EPA Combined range of 427 miles.

Lucid is expected to release the other EPA range ratings and the Grand Touring’s pricing and specifications in early 2024. Nonetheless, the price reductions for the 2024 model year will undoubtedly aid the brand in increasing its sales in the coming years.
