One of the most crucial considerations for buyers of electric vehicles has always been the driving range. Indeed, longer-range models reduce “range anxiety” among customers.

According to the Vehicle Technologies Office of the Department of Energy (DOE), the top 10 new all-electric car models in 2022 in terms of registrations were those with “long ranges.”

Using the EPA Combined range rating, eight out of ten top BEVs have a range of at least 300 miles (483 kilometers). For the Chevrolet Bolt EUV, the lowest range was 247 miles (397 km).

Apparently, all the vehicles in the top 10 had over 200 miles (322 km) range, even when considering the short-range versions (smaller batteries).

As you can see in the table above, America’s leading automaker, Tesla, managed to get its S3XY lineup in the top five.

Except for two models, all of the top 10 had 300-mile or longer ranges. Chevrolet Bolt EUV has a 247-mile range, the shortest model range.
