South Korean automotive brand Kia has just launched a substantial discount for its first three-row electric SUV EV9, enabling customers to save up to $7,500 upon purchase.
Kia boosts Customer Cash discount on top of other available offers
Kia reportedly sent a bulletin to its dealers, informing them about the increase in the brand’s Customer Cash offer on all variants of the new 2024 EV9 starting on March 1, according to Cars Direct.
The Hyundai-owned brand raised the amount of its offered Customer Cash discount from $3,500 to $5,000, making it more affordable for customers. For context, the 2024 Kia EV9 has a base price of $56,395, including the destination fee.
Thanks to the discount, customers can avail the all-electric family hauler for $51,395. Even more, customers can also benefit from the currently available loyalty discount worth $1,000.
In addition, they can also apply for the hidden $1,000 EV9 dealer cash discount. All these considered, the manufacturer’s suggested retail price (MSRP) of the 2024 Kia EV9 can hit as low as $49,395 for the base version.
Customers can also tap into the leasing loophole, which offers a $7,500 discount. Kia reportedly reduced the leasing rates to 2.49% and the monthly prices by $20.
About the 2024 Kia EV9
EV-a2z recently reported the Kia EV9’s feat of winning the “German Luxury Car of the Year” award even before its launch.
The Kia EV9 is apparently the second model to join the brand’s dedicated BEV portfolio, following the popular EV6.
It rides on the Electric-Global Modular Platform (E-GMP), featuring a 99.8 kWh battery pack. It claims a maximum driving range of 239 km on a single 15-minute charge. It also supports an 800v ultra-fast charging technology.
The RWD variant features a 150 kW electric motor and a WLTP-estimated range of 541 km, while the AWD variant offers two 141 kW electric motors with a 497 km range. The GT-line variant can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.3 seconds with a 200 km/h top speed.
Kia’s YTD sales in the US
Kia EV9 exceeded the EV6’s sales by approximately 200 units in the US market from January to February 2024.
It is indeed remarkable, considering that the brand only started rolling out the three-row electric SUV in late 2023. Meanwhile, the Kia EV6 has been available in the US since 2022.
Overall, Kia EV9 sales reached 2,726 units, while the EV6 sold 2,522 units this year to date.
Kia’s move to offer enormous customer discounts for the new EV9 is unsurprising, considering the growing number of electric vehicle models in the US market. Industry players continue to seek more aggressive pricing strategies to ensure their competence in the rapidly growing market.
