South Korean legacy automaker Hyundai officially opened the pre-orders for its new low-cost electric vehicle model, the Casper Electric, on its home turf on Tuesday.

According to the press release, the new Hyundai Casper Electric has officially hit the South Korean market. It is now available for pre-orders.
In hindsight, Hyundai has just introduced the new model in June 2024. It goes by the name Inster EV” in Europe.
The company claims that the new electric crossover city car is the “new standard for popularizing electric vehicles.”
Pricing
Hyundai launched the new Casper Electric at very competitive pricing.
The base variant, “Inspiration,” costs only 31.5 million won ($22,800), excluding tax incentives.
Available government and local subsidies can further bring down the final costs to about 20 million won ( $14,500), depending on regional support.
Hyundai plans to introduce premium and off-road variants next.

The new Hyundai Casper can charge from 10% to 80% in just half an hour. It also offers vehicle-to-load (V2L) capabilities, enabling owners to use their cars to power electronics, tools, or even home appliances.
