Following the announcement of record Q4 and full-year 2022 worldwide financial results for the entire group yesterday, CEO Carlos Tavares guaranteed investors that Stellantis is prepared to bring to North America the strategy that propelled it to the top of the commercial electric vehicle market in Europe and the second in overall EVs in Europe last year.

In addition to our record financial results and the focused execution of the Dare Forward 2030 strategic plan, we also demonstrated the effectiveness of our electrification strategy in Europe. We now have the technology, the products, the raw materials, and the full battery ecosystem to lead that same transformative journey in North America, starting with our first fully electric Ram vehicles from 2023 and Jeep from 2024

The battery-electric Ram ProMaster van

Stellantis also teased the battery-electric Ram ProMaster van, which will be revealed during the initial half of this year and go on sale in the second.

The automaker did not reveal any additional information about the ProMaster EV. Still, according to MoparInsiders, the electric van will be based heavily on the Fiat e-Ducato sold in Europe.

The single electric motor in the Italian van produces 90 kilowatts (120 horsepower) and 210 pound-feet (280 Newton-meters) of torque.

European customers can choose between a 47-kilowatt-hour or 79-kilowatt-hour battery for a WLTP range of up to 170 miles (280 kilometers) on a single charge.

Following the Ram ProMaster EV release, the truck manufacturer will enter the EV pickup race with the Ram 1500 REV next year. Speaking of the electric truck, Carlos Tavares confirmed that the first model year sold out in just three days.

Pre-orders for the truck started earlier this month and are expected to arrive in late 2024.

The long-awaited 2024 Ram ProMaster EV will officially make its debut within the next four months. In addition, the commercial van could be powered by front-mounted 120 hp electric motor and be offered with around 200 miles of electric range. #Ram #ProMasterEV #ProMaster #BEVs pic.twitter.com/tpUXj7pIbp

Stellantis to hit 5 million global BEV sales in 2030

Along with leading the US plug-in hybrid market with 64,000 sales (+26%), led by the Jeep Wrangler 4xe, Stellantis was also one of the market leaders in Europe for BEVs.

Stellantis sold 288,000 battery electric vehicles (BEVs) in 2022, a 41 percent increase year over year.

The company sells 23 BEV models and plans to add nine more this year.

By the end of 2024, its BEV portfolio will have more than doubled to 47 models, as the company aims to have more than 75 BEVs globally and 5 million global BEV sales by 2030.
