2024 Mustang Mach-E gets up to 20% range increase

According to the press release, the 2024 Ford Mustang Mach-E gained an up to 20% EPA-estimated driving range increase compared to the electric SUV’s prior model year.

This notable range improvement enables the upgraded Mustang Mach-E to deliver a maximum range of 320 miles in the extended-range battery and rear-wheel drive (RWD) configuration. Refer to the table below:

Vehicle 2024 model year EPA-estimated rangeImprovement
Mustang Mach-E Select, standard-range battery, rear-wheel drive 250 + 20
Mustang Mach-E Premium, extended-range battery, rear-wheel drive 320 + 20
Mustang Mach-E GT 280 + 10
Mustang Mach-E Rally 265 N/A

Ford attributes the improved driving range of the model to the new rear motor, along with several efficiency tweaks.

Exciting to share details of the 2024 Mustang Mach-E lineup and – including the all-new Mustang Mach-E GT  Performance Upgrade. I’ve been waiting for this! Already got one on order!

Charging speed improvement

Ford managed to substantially enhance the Mustang Mach-E’s fast-charging capability owing to the efficiency bump.

As per the report, the company promises to deliver 10%-80% charge in just approximately 36.2 minutes for the Mustang Mach-E trims with extended battery:

“The 2024 Mustang Mach-E® SUV with available extended range battery charges almost 20 percent faster with DC fast charging than previous models, enabling drivers to charge from 10-80% in approximately 36.2 minutes and get back on the road – that’s 8.8 minutes faster than previous models – and standard range battery offerings charge 10-80% in 32.3 min, which is 5.7 minutes faster than the Mustang Mach-E at launch.”

Performance bump

Apart from the driving range increase and charging speed headway, the 2024 Ford Mustang Mach-E delivers a performance bump and a new performance trim.

According to the American automaker, the new “Performance Upgrade” cuts half a second from Mach-E GT’s 0-60 mph acceleration time.

“Our 2024 Mustang Mach-E GT with the Mustang Mach-E GT Performance Upgrade truly is the quickest Mustang Mach-E to date. 0-60 mph in 3.3 seconds, it is faster than both the Tesla Model Y Performance and the Porsche Macan 4 Electric. It cracks the quarter mile in 11.8 seconds at 114 mph.”

It must be noted that Ford offers the Performance Upgrade as an option on the Mustang Mach-E GT. However, it is a standard feature on the new Ford Mustang Mach-E Rally.

Ford claims that this new version is perfectly suited for both on-road and off-road driving. The company also raised the model by 1 inch compared to the GT trim.

“Rally is raised 1″ higher than GT, tuned for both on-road and off-road, with rally-inspired appearance wheels, tires, spoilers, and stripe package.”

Ford

Ford published a more than 2-minute video about the Mustang Mach-E’s new trim:

In addition to these major upgrades, the 2024 Ford Mustang Mach-E also gains access to over 15,000 Tesla Superchargers through the BlueOval Charge Network. Eligible owners can start reserving a free NACS adapter to use the Musk-led company’s innovative fast-charging stations.
