American legacy automaker Ford Motor Company enjoyed notable improvements in its electric vehicle sales in the United States in June and Q2 2024.
However, its overall new vehicle sales (including Lincoln) dropped 6% year-over-year to 166,448 in June 2024. The Q2 2024 and year-to-date results slightly increased by 0.8% (536,050) and 3.6% (1,044,133), respectively.
Ford reports 61% YoY BEV sales growth in Q2 2024
Ford recorded a 61% YoY increase in its BEV sales to almost 24,000 units in the second quarter of the year, according to the press release. As expected, the popular Ford Mustang Mach-E remained the sales growth driver for the American automaker:

Ford’s BEV sales grew 18% YoY in June 2024
Ford’s all-electric vehicle sales surged 18% YoY to 6,972 units. This figure accounted for 4.4% of its total volume, indicating a notable increase from just 3.5% from the previous year.

Ford recorded 72% YoY BEV sales growth in Jan-Jun 2024
This year to date, Ford’s BEV sales in the US surged almost 72% YoY to 44,180 units. This figure accounted for a notable 4.4% of its overall volume. Refer to the table below:

In hindsight, Ford’s BEV sales grew 18% YoY to more than 72,000 units in 2023. It represented around 3.8% of the brand’s overall vehicle sales.
It must be noted that Ford does not disclose the sale figures for its other plug-in models, including the Ford Escape PHEV. It also does not share the PHEV sales results of its Lincoln brand in the US.
These remarkable improvements in Ford’s all-electric vehicle sales enabled it to remain America’s second top-selling EV brand, trailing behind Tesla. It is on track to further boost its sales in the coming quarters with the arrival of its new models, including the new Explorer, Lincoln Aviator, Mustang Mach-E Rally, extended-range E-Transit, and other planned low-cost models.
