Cadillac seems to be trying to spark some buzz before introducing the newest battery-powered model in its portfolio.
Teaser video
Cadillac initially announced the development of the Escalade IQ EV in May 2023. However, it does not provide any key details about the redesign of the iconic model.
Likewise, today’s teaser video does not disclose many details, except the front end of the Escalade IQ and some close-up shots.
The front end looks pretty similar to the current Lyriq and Celestiq models, varying significantly from the existing models of the Escalade.
The huge three-row SUV features an extruded taillight/spoiler wedge with wing-like animated front LEDs. It also appears to sport enormous 22-inch wheels riding on Michelin Primacy LTX tires. The teaser video also showed the EV’s planar roof and antenna.
In addition, the Escalade IQ’s front fascia featured more LEDs on each side, including solid vertical lines and animated dotted lines.
According to the promotional video, the Escalade IQ EV will be “the reinvention of an icon.”
“The debut of Escalade IQ marks the next step in Cadillac’s commitment to offering a fully electric portfolio by the end of the decade.
The Escalade IQ will be produced at Factory Zero Detroit-Hamtramck Assembly Center, which was renovated and retooled with a $2.2 billion investment to serve as the launchpad for GM’s EV strategy.”
Cadillac said in a statement
Moreover, Cadillac indicated that the upcoming Escalade IQ would undergo production at GM’s Factory ZERO in Detroit.
