Yangwang U8 key details

The all-electric SUV Yangwang U8 sports an appealing sealed layout with NVH (Noise, Vibration, and Harshness) elements. It offers 1,100 horsepower and a CLTC-estimated driving range of 180 km.

Moreover, it can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.6 seconds. It can handle fast charging technologies with a capacity to recharge from 30% to 80% in 18 minutes. It also has an external discharge part with an output of up to 6 kW.

According to CarExpert, the new model will use the famous BYD Blade batteries.

As for its dimensions, the Yangwang U8 is 5,319 mm long, 2,050 mm wide, and 1,930 mm tall, with a 3,050 mm wheelbase, as per the regulatory filing.

It will have two versions, including the Premium Edition and the Off-road Master Edition.

Yangwang brand

BYD formally introduced the new Yangwang brand on January 26. It revealed that the first models of the luxury brand will be the Yangwang U8 and U9.

The brand launched a new driving technology, e4 or “Yisifang.” For context, it is a “new wheel-side motor that powers the vehicle through four independent motors without relying on the steering wheel to turn,” Cars News China indicated. This technology allows the car to hit 360-degree steering in a single spot.

These two EVs will apparently utilize the e4 technology, with the U8 as the first model.

Yangwang announced in June that it expects to launch the U8 in August, while deliveries were set for September. That said, the company faced a minor delay in delivering the U8. Nonetheless, it will still certainly aid the brand in establishing a name in the electric vehicle industry.
