German legacy automaker BMW has just released a teaser video for its upcoming i5 Touring electric sedan, which will probably arrive as the highly awaited M60 version.
Teaser video highlights
Despite not indicating an “M60” monicker in the X post, the company previously confirmed plans to launch an M model.
As you can see in the video, the upcoming features upgraded taillights, an extra small rear spoiler, and a sleek new bumper.
In hindsight, the M division’s head, Franciscus van Meel, announced that the high-performance i5 M60 Touring would debut as early as this spring.
What’s currently known about the model?
The BMW i5 M60 is expected to feature a dual-motor powertrain that generates a maximum output of 593 hp and 586 lb-ft of torque.
BMW i5 M60’s interior will also likely retain the brand’s latest technology and software. It includes a dual 12.3-inch driver display and infotainment. It will also come with a more generous cargo space.
According to BMW Blog, it can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just below 4 seconds. It also expects the model to feature an 81.2 kWh battery pack.
Unfortunately, BMW currently has no plans to bring the i5 Touring to the North American market. Nonetheless, the company confirmed it will launch the model in 27 countries in the European and Asian regions.
