BMW M is unwavering in its commitment to the electrification of its vehicles and recently announced that within the next four years, the company will offer more electric cars and plug-in hybrids than it will vehicles powered solely by internal combustion engines.

By the year 2027, the percentage of sales of pure combustion engines will have dropped below the halfway mark.

The #BMWiX M60’s debut marks a milestone in the history of BMW M. It embodies the entry of BMW M to the electric performance vehicle segment. And the start of new driving experiences. Especially impressive: the amazing acceleration: 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.8 seconds. pic.twitter.com/IPuMFsBOy6

BMW M coming this 2028

Furthermore, BMW M anticipates that by 2028, purely electric M automobiles will account for more than fifty percent of sales figures, outselling the company’s vehicles equipped with internal combustion engines.

Around ten percent of all energy generation in 2030 will come from internal combustion engines.

According to Bimmer Today’s publication, the BMW M chief Frank van Meel announced while presenting the M2 and the XM while being backed with graphics.

Currently, the BMW M electric range comprises the i4 M50 and the iX M60; however, this year, it will be expanded with the addition of the BMW i7 M70 (G70) and the BMW i5 M60 (G60).

A high-performance M electric vehicle that will have an electric motor on each wheel is currently being developed, and a widened version of the i4 M50 is serving as its testbed.

Motor1.com reports that it aligns with the overall vision of the BMW Group for the electrification of its vehicles. During a presentation that took place earlier this month, the company announced that it anticipates a significant increase in the production as well as the sales of fully electric vehicles in the years to come.

BMW to deliver 10 million EVs in 2030

The German manufacturer is making about a dozen fully electric models available. At the very least, twenty percent of the company’s new automobiles will be equipped with an all-electric propulsion system by 2024.

By 2025, one out of every three brand-new cars should be a battery-electric vehicle (BEV); by 2026, that number should rise to one out of every two.

BMW is positive about the advancement of the charging network, as well as the prices of raw materials and the availability of those materials. Its new offensive, expected to be introduced in 2025, will feature the new Neue Klasse line as its flagship vehicle.

Depending on these factors, the company anticipates exceeding a share of the BEV market by more than 50 percent well before 2030.

The BMW Group has the ambitious goal of delivering more than 10 million fully-electric vehicles to customers by the year 2030, with the significant achievement of selling 2 million fully-electric vehicles projected to be achieved in 2025.
