Technology giant ABB E-mobility proudly announced that the company deployed over one million EV chargers across the world, with its AC and DC fast chargers combined. This significant milestone marks the company’s mission of promoting a clean mobility future.
“ABB E-mobility has a long history of developing innovations to create an emission-free mobility future. Our continual investment in research and development shows our commitment to enhancing the field of e-mobility, but it is the global delivery of these solutions at scale that is integral to realizing our goals.”

ABB E-mobility’s global network
ABB E-mobility has already penetrated 85 global markets with its wide range of EV charging equipment. Since 2010, the company has been offering basic AC charge points, three-phase charge points of about 22 kW, and DC fast chargers of up to 360 kW with its Terra 360 product.
“From the production of the EU’s first 50kW charger in 2010 to the launch of the Terra 360, which is capable of delivering 60 miles (100 km) of range in less than three minutes, ABB E-mobility has long sought to develop the innovations necessary to create an emission-free mobility future.”
Frank Mühlon , ABB E-mobility CEO
Remarkably, ABB E-mobility doubled its production capacity in the last two years with the opening of its new $30 million production plant in Valdarno, Italy, in 2022. The 172,200 square-foot Italian plant is equipped with innovative technologies throughout its seven assembly lines, enabling one DC fast charger production rate every 20 minutes.
ABB E-mobility persists in growing continuously, as it has also started production at its new US production facility. The US plant is expected to have an annual production capacity of 10,000 chargers for public charging, school buses, and fleets.
“North America has been a big part of ABB E-mobility’s success story over the last decade, having delivered thousands of fast chargers across the United States and Canada. We are fully prepared to satisfy the demand for this critical infrastructure by adding significant manufacturing capacity in the United States.”
Bob Stojanovic, North America’s SVP of ABB E-mobility
Per previous reports, ABB E-mobility’s overall deployment of DC fast chargers surpassed 30,000 units. That said, the company’s AC chargers deployment is now around 970,000 units.
ABB E-mobility is indeed a leading technology firm in the automation and electrification industry. The company has been promoting emission-free mobility with its cutting-edge products.
“Our investment in local and global manufacturing and R&D will ensure that ABB E-mobility will continue to be a leader in the industry.”
