Chinese electric automaker Zeekr recently brought its third model, X, into production at its factory in Ningbo, Zhejiang province, China.
The Zeekr X’s first production models rolled off the manufacturing line on Thursday, as the planned deliveries were near.
The Geely-owned premium brand will apparently ship the first batch of X models to its stores in different Chinese cities. Meanwhile, it aims to start deliveries by mid-June.
Zeekr X production progress
Zeekr initially teased the X in February. Then, it launched the small all-electric crossover on April 12, positioning it to advance as luxury compact cars’ standard.
Just two months after the official launch, the first batch of the Zeekr X has finally left the production line. They are already set to arrive at the company’s stores across China.
CnEVPost reported that the company began accepting reservations for the Zeekr X since its debut, with a 40,000-unit delivery target.
About the Zeer X
The Zeekr X will share the same platform with Volvo EX30 and Smart #1, Geely’s Sustainable Electric Architecture (SEA).
According to the company, the Zeekr X will sell at the following base prices:
- Base rear-wheel-drive trim – RMB 189,800 ($26,670)
- All-wheel drive trim – RMB 209,800 ($30,500)
The RWD trim will offer a 200 kW (268 horsepower), InsideEVs noted. Meanwhile, the AWD trim will feature a dual-motor configuration, generating 315 kW (422 hp) and 400 pound-feet (543 Newton-meters) of torque. It can also accelerate from 0 to 62 miles per hour (0-100 kilometers per hour) in just 3.7 seconds.
Nonetheless, both trims will feature a Nickel Manganese Cobalt-based (NMC) 66-kilowatt-hour battery pack. According to the automaker, the RWD model will have a CLTC-estimated range of up to 348 miles (560 km) between charges. Meanwhile, the AWD has a driving range of up to 318 miles (512 km) between charges, also based on China’s CLTC.

On the other hand, Zeekr X’s European debut is “expected in due course.” However, it remains unclear how Geely will market them on the continent, considering that the Zeekr X and Volvo EX30 are both high-end vehicles with starting prices below $35,000.
