The leading Chinese automaker BYD has started a massive hiring campaign on its premium brand, Yangwang (仰望), according to CnEVPost.
Yangwang, which translates to “looking up,” was officially announced on November 8, 2022.
A recently released poster revealed that the company is now hiring for 21 roles covering “product planning, user operations, digital experience, brand planning, marketing, media relations, and retail.”
Furthermore, the poster states, “We are a new automotive brand responsible for BYD’s premium brand car sales business.”
Job details
Applicants must have at least three years of experience in the automotive business, per the job postings. Notably, experience in the high-end automobile business or the fashion/luxury industries is preferred.
It seems like Yangwang aims to concentrate heavily on user operations while pursuing high-end consumers.
The following are the responsibilities of the user operation role, as per the report:
- devise and carry out online and offline user communication activities
- design user operation systems
- sustain and nurture core quality users7
Meanwhile, the responsibilities of the user experience strategy role are as follows:
- perform user-centered structured research
- modify and iterate products depending on market trends and user feedback
- enhance overall user satisfaction
Furthermore, the responsibilities of the digital experience role entail the following:
- establish membership systems
- write and produce content following hot topics and user demands
It is also worth noting that expertise in the luxury business is preferred for roles in marketing, event operations, brand strategy, and media relations.
Launch date and pricing
In the first quarter of 2023, the company’s official launch is scheduled. Moreover, the first extreme off-road vehicle is also anticipated to debut at that time.
Electric vehicle models from the brand are anticipated to cost between RMB 800,000 ($111,300) and RMB 1.5 million. However, the exact costs will be revealed when the pertinent models are officially introduced.
