Chinese automaker XPeng established a new business unit named Guangzhou Pengbo Automotive Technology Co Ltd on November 16, according to CnEVPost.
About the Guangzhou Pengbo Automotive Technology Co Ltd
As per the report, the company has RMB 5 billion ($700 million) registered capital. Furthermore, according to the company’s registration data, XPeng President Henry Xia is the company’s legal representative.
The company’s commercial operations include the following:
· battery manufacturing
· battery spare parts production
· battery sales
· battery spare parts sales
· automotive parts research and development
· research and development of electric motors and their control systems
Guangzhou Pengbo Automotive Technology Co Ltd is fully controlled by Guangzhou Pengyi Automotive Technology Co Ltd. It is also an XPeng subsidiary, which was established on October 26.
XPeng on battery production
Apart from that, a battery life prediction patent from XPeng was unveiled on August 13 of last year. It has the potential to substantially increase prediction accuracy.
Based on the patent’s abstract, data models were developed based on knowledge of various vehicles’ operating conditions to estimate their battery life.
However, not enough data would indicate that the Chinese automaker would penetrate the battery market. Nonetheless, the launch of the said business unit is a remarkable advancement in battery production.
