Xiaomi is celebrating the SU7’s 10,000th production milestone just about a month after its market launch.

The Chinese company also shared that its electric vehicle factory is currently in full operation to further boost the production capacity. Xiaomi aims to hit a total delivery of 100,000 units this year alone.

“We believe that one day, there will be Xiaomi cars riding on every road around the world!”

Xiaomi SU7 launch

Xiaomi formally introduced the new SU7 in the Chinese electric vehicle market on March 28. It comes with three variants, including the Standard, Pro, and Max. These SU7 variants start at RMB 215,900 ($29,800), RMB 245,900 ($34,000), and RMB 299,900 (41,500), respectively.

Xiaomi also launched a Founders Edition with only 5,000 units available, with customer deliveries beginning on April 3, 2024. At the time, Xiaomi Founder and Chief Executive Lei Jun announced that the model had already gained over 100,000 firm orders and over 40,000 locked-in orders.

Early success

Xiaomi Founder and Chief Executive Lei Jun shared on Thursday that the SU7 has already secured more than 70,000 locked-in orders as of April 20, 2024. The announcement occurred on the first day of the 2024 Beijing Auto Show.

As of April 24, locked-in orders reached a total of 75,723 units. Of that total, Xiaomi already delivered 5,781 SU7s just 28 days after the market launch.

Considering the strong demand for the new electric sedan, Xiaomi plans to hit monthly delivery of 10,000+ SU7s in June.
