Volkswagen Passenger Cars CEO, Thomas Schäfer recently announced the company’s ambitious plans to become a genuine Love Brand through a rapid and fundamental transformation. “We are focused on being close to our customers and providing them with top technology and fantastic design,” Schäfer explained. “The ID. 2all showcases our direction, and we are working quickly to make electric mobility accessible to all.” The production model of ID.2all for the European market will be introduced by Volkswagen in 2025 with a target price below 25,000 euros.

Imelda Labbé, a member of Volkswagen’s Brand Board of Management overseeing Sales, Marketing and Aftersales, stated that the company is committed to bringing the traditional Volkswagen values to the realm of modern mobility, with a focus on top-notch quality, workmanship, cutting-edge software, and digital services that provide real value to customers.

Volkswagen’s upcoming ID.2all vehicle is designed to deliver an exceptional driving experience, thanks to its advanced features and cutting-edge technology. The vehicle is based on the latest evolutionary stage of the modular electric drive (MEB) platform, which now enables front-wheel drive. As Kai Grünitz, Member of the Brand Board of Management responsible for Technical Development, explains, the ID.2all will be the first MEB vehicle with front-wheel drive. The MEB Entry platform offers particularly efficient drive, battery, and charging technology, making the ID.2all stand out in the competitive electric car market. The vehicle boasts a powerful electric drive motor with an output of 166 kW/226 PS and a calculated WLTP range of up to 450 kilometres.

“The ID. 2all gives a preview of the new design language of Volkswagen, which is based on the three pillars stability, likeability and enthusiasm.”, explains Andreas Mindt, Head of Design at Volkswagen Passenger Cars.

Volkswagen’s new design language incorporates several notable features, including the iconic C-pillar design first seen on the original Golf. The ID.2all is the first Volkswagen vehicle to adopt a modernized version of this signature design element. The car’s body boasts a commanding stance on the wheels, a welcoming front fascia, and a balance of dynamic energy and timeless sophistication.

The Lap of Luxury: Interior design that delivers space and elegance

The vehicle’s interior is distinguished by its sophisticated design and premium finish. It also has a user-friendly infotainment system with classic volume control and a dedicated air conditioning module. Furthermore, the vehicle offers a spacious storage area of 490-1,330 litres, exceeding that of more expensive car classes.

Going full throttle on sustainability: Ten fresh electric models to lead the charge by 2026

Volkswagen has also announced the launch of ten new electric models by 2026, including the production version of the ID.2all. The carmaker will introduce the ID.303, the extended wheelbase version of the ID.Buzz04, and the ID.705 this year, followed by a compact electric SUV in 2026. Despite various challenges, Volkswagen is committed to developing an affordable electric car priced below 20,000 euros. This move will give a competitive edge to the company, with the broadest range of electric vehicles compared to its competitors. Volkswagen aims to achieve an 80% market share of electric cars in Europe, up from its previous estimate of 70%.
