Vietnamese automaker VinFast announced on January 25 the launch of VinFast North America. As per the press release, this new business unit will encompass the company’s key strategic business operations in Canada and the United States.
VinFast North America will now have the company’s US headquarters in Los Angeles. Meanwhile, VinFast Canada will manage the sales, services, and distribution in the Canadian auto market as a member company of VinFast North America.
Notably, the current VinFast US – Manufacturing CEO Ms. Nguyen Thi Van Anh, will be the CEO of VinFast North America. She will also retain her responsibilities in her current role.
Purpose
VinFast aims to enhance the efficiency of the allocation of its resources by consolidating its Canadian and US businesses into one coordinated unit.
This strategic move is crucial to VinFast’s long-term plan to advance in the rapidly growing and competitive auto industry. It is expected to optimize VinFast’s significant operations and accelerate its EV deliveries to customers while cutting costs.
The formation of VinFast North America will also enable increased “focus, responsiveness and accountability” to effectively implement the company’s business plans and strategies.
VinFast assured the customers that the move would not affect its product quality excellence and high service standards.
“VinFast will still retain existing legal entities in Canada and the US for product distribution and service activities in these markets.”
VinFast
VinFast has also previously announced plans to launch a promotion strategy to compete with Tesla’s price cuts. Indeed, the Vietnamese automaker is getting aggressive in its expansion and electrification efforts in North America. It would be exciting to see how this brand will progress in the auto industry this year.
