Tesla Model Y ranked as the sixth best-selling car, with about 252,000 units in the United States in 2022, as reported by Tesmanian. The compact SUV has beaten the established ICE car brands, advancing 11 spots from 2021.
Tesla Model Y YoY sales growth
Tesla sold about 252,000 Model Y units in 2022, Tesmanian reports citing Motor Intelligence. Remarkably, that number represents a year-on-year increase of 32.4%.
In retrospect, Tesla Model Y was only in the 17th spot in terms of sales in the US in 2021. That said, this 11 spots advancement demonstrates the strong growth of the compact SUV in the auto industry.
Well, it is not surprising since Tesla Model Y is an attractive and sophisticated compact electric SUV.
“This is a beautiful, roomy, high-performance, comfortable, luxurious, high-tech electric vehicle that captures the love of consumers very quickly. For now, the only limiting factor to greater Model Y growth is the production capacity of American factories.”
Eva Fox, Author at Tasmanian
Considering this substantial growth, Tesla Model Y can dominate the US auto market once the Giga Texas launches its production ramp-up.
