This annual competition acknowledges the automakers worldwide, brings pride in their work and boosts their companies.
Although 2022 is past us, CleanTechnica strives to obtain sales data from the different automakers, eventually giving us the missing piece to know which automaker will stand on top. These are electric vehicle registrations by Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM).

BYD continued its rise in November to 18.4%, a 0.4% share higher than in October. Tesla comes in second, increasing its share from 0.2% to 13%. A year ago, the results were different as Tesla lost 1% share, and BYD struck up its share by 9 points.
Volkswagen Group is in third and remained stable at 8%. On the other hand, SAIC, who is in fourth, lost 0.2% share, dropping to 7.4%. Both lost a significant market share when comparing their year-over-year sales performance. Additionally, the German automaker dropped by 4% and the Shanghai-based OEM by 3%.
Geely-Volvo solidified its position, raising its share from 5.9% to 6.1% from the previous month. It has also seen its closest rivals lose market share. Funny how the tide has turned with Hyundai-Kia and Stellanis. Stellantis is now above Hyudai-Kia after these two switched roles once more. The seventh placer Hyundai-Kia was down from 5.2% in the previous month to 4.7%. The sixth placer Stellantis was down from 4.8% in October to 4.7%.

As opposed to 18.5% in October, Tesla currently owns 18.1% of the market. BYD remained in second place and increased its market share from 11.9% at the end of Q3 to 12.7%. Expect Tesla to end the year with 18.3% and these OEMs to finish with 13.1%. (BYD).
BYD gained 4%, and Tesla lost 3% market share year over year. If these patterns continue, BYD may overtake Tesla in the BEV league in the third quarter of 2019.
SAIC is still in third place despite losing market share (9.6% as opposed to 9.8% at the end of October). However, it still maintains a comfortable lead over Volkswagen Group in fourth (7.5% as opposed to 7.4% at the end of Q3).
Geely-Volvo is now at 5.1%, up from 4.8% in Q3. The Chinese OEM is one rank ahead of Hyundai-Kia, which is in fifth place and has 4.8%, down from 5% in October.
It is a sneak peek of what will come in the electric vehicle market this 2023. The question is, would these automakers still stand among the rest this year?
