The Farmtrac 25G is the first commercially available purely electric 4×4 tractor in the United Kingdom. This tractor is suitable for farm owners and groundskeepers.

There will be a live show in Sydney, Australia, on March 11 and 12 to witness the electric tractor and see more of the electric show.

Electrification of cars, bikes, and trucks is on the way, and it will also electrify tractors, which will be very useful in our farms. That will provide us with the productivity and efficiency we demand.

Farmtrac 25G’s efficiency

Adam Henson demonstrated the Farmtrac 25G’s efficiency on his Bemborough farm in Gloucestershire.

Fully Charged’s Robert Llewellyn asked Adam what he thought about converting the farming tractor to an all-electric vehicle.

Well, I have to say I’m impressed. Right, you know, I think on the farm. And in fact, across the whole of British agriculture, we’re now looking really carefully at what our impact on the environment is, what’s our carbon footprint,

But the electric movement into cars, and now that movement into tractors, is got to be a good thing. This is the first one I’ve ever seen performing really well. Amazing driving a tractor around with no engine as such. But, of course, it’s tiny. What we need is scale our tractors, a 250 horsepower, pulling great big cultivators and drills and plows

Changes come with challenges

However, along with these changes in our lives, there are still some challenges and complexities of owning an electric car because if you live on a street where you cannot plug in and charge, this is a significant issue.

Along with this electric tractor, it has a three-pin plug that allows you to charge it overnight and have it ready to go the next day.

The issue with using this Farmtrac 25G is determining the size of your farm and how many hectares you will harvest. Because if you have more land, you will need a giant machine, which will be more expensive and most likely requires fuel due to its size.

However, Adam is considering replacing the engine with a battery-powered motor because it will be less expensive.

I think it is the cost and the so because that was the thing that was that you know, the batteries in this, this has got a 21-kilowatt-hour battery, which in 2010 would have cost many 1000s of pounds. It now cost if that cost a couple of 1000 quid, so that’s you know, and then you compare that with a diesel engine, same size, they make so many of them that they are cheaper still,

but it’s just as production ramps up, I think the cost of the because this is almost twice as much as the diesel equivalent, same size tractor so it’s still an expensive item, so it’s got it’s got a 21 roughly 21-kilowatt-hour battery, which charges on three Pins overnight charging, you wouldn’t do rapid charging on this, but it will give you six, seven hours of hard work

Adam Henson stated on cost-efficiency of Farmtrac 25G

Farmtrac 25G is the same as the fuel-powered tractors

According to Adam, the Farmtrac 25G is as efficient and productive as the fuel-powered ones, but the electric tractor is much cheaper than the fuel version and can do the same amount of work daily.

One of the exciting features of the electric tractor is that it no longer makes a loud noise, allowing you to work quietly. So you can concentrate on your work in peace.

Here's a glimpse of our customer in Norway indulging in farming with happiness. Giving her the company is our electric tractor – Farmtrac 25G, which is being used by her to trim the grass. We are happy to see our customers taking such pleasures doing garden farming. pic.twitter.com/j0xbfbjPcX

But you know, it’s a much more controlled environment to have a truck or an autonomous tractor on a field; it makes so much more sense,

completely is, I mean, you know, where the boundaries are, and that will be mapped on the computer. And as you say, you’ll still have sensors all over it

Adam Henson stated on Farmtrac 25G as autonomous tractor

The future of farming

By 2040, the National Farmers Union hopes to have zero greenhouse emissions from UK agriculture and British farming.

Because of the Farmtrac 25G’s long battery life, Robert is amazed at how long you can use it. On the farm, it can work for 7 hours straight. You won’t mind if you end up in the middle of the field due to a dead battery.

The electrification of our agricultural industry is a significant step toward more productive, efficient, and environmentally friendly farming.
