Electric vehicle giant Tesla is gearing up to launch a new “Avoid Highways” option in its in-car navigation, Chief Executive Elon Musk declared in a response to an X user.
Tesla plans to add “Avoid Highways” feature for more diverse driving experience
During an X broadcast three days ago, the Tesla boss announced that the new Avoid Highways feature would occur in its in-car navigation system.
Around the 31:29 mark, an X user asked in the livestream chat if Tesla could include the Avoid Highways option in a future update.
Elon Musk then answered, “Alright, sure.” It is worth noting that Tesla’s navigation is among the most innovative and reliable available in the market today. However, it still lacks several key features already available in Apple and Google Maps.
Continuous improvement
While Tesla electric car owners can use third-party navigation apps like Google Maps and Apple Maps, using the car’s built-in navigation system is still more convenient.
In addition, Tesla’s in-car navigation is very useful for streamlining Supercharging during long trips, among other things.
Therefore, Tesla continues to improve its in-car navigation by launching new features to offer a more enjoyable driving and ownership experience.
Most recently, the American automaker introduced “marks” that help identify road accidents and road closures. This feature, similar to Waze, Apple Maps, and Google Maps, enables drivers to avoid unexpected circumstances while on the road. Remarkably, it also delivers more accurate data to real-time settings.
Elon Musk omitted to disclose more details, particularly the launch date of the new feature. Considering Tesla’s enormous and skilled software team, launching such a feature seems easy for the company.
