American tech giant Tesla is reportedly planning to introduce an upgraded version of its innovative Powerwall.
The third generation of the popular home energy storage system is named Powerwall 3, which is expected to be cost-effective to produce with added benefits.
Powerwall 3 improvements
The automaker is yet to formally announce the Powerwall 3 launch. Nonetheless, the upgraded technology already emerged in 2022 when its development was leaked from an internal meeting.
At that time, the following are the only details about Powerwall 3:
- enable easier installations
- enhanced aesthetics
- stronger performance than the early versions
Furthermore, Tesla was reported to test the Powerwall 3 with its staff last year. Now, it appears that Tesla is now gearing up for the tech’s public launch.
Electrek reported that Tesla has started submitting applications for Powerwall 3’s approval and certification with several US utility companies.
The report further indicated that the Powerwall 3 has already been certified by some utility companies. It indicates that Tesla may soon launch the new technology.
