American electric vehicle giant Tesla is gearing up to launch a new suite of Cybertruck off-roading features, Top Gear’s exclusive video revealed on Sunday.
Tesla Cybertruck’s off-roading tools
The news magazine disclosed the new off-roading tools for the all-electric Tesla Cybertruck in the exclusive video released over the weekend.
Some of the new features include additional off-roading modes, access to pitch and angle configurations, front/rear locking differential controls, etc.
As you can see in the video, Top Gear’s team tested the Tesla Cybertruck and Rivian R1T in Johnson Valley, California. They seek to determine if the all-electric pickup can effectively deliver off-roading maneuvers.
Both electric pickups performed four primary off-roading tests: a rock crawl, a “whoops” test, a jump, and a sand dune crawl.
The Cybertruck utilized some of its new features, including four dedicated terrain modes (all-purpose, rock, gravel/deep snow, and sand).
The Tesla Cybertruck’s software also now enables drivers to choose between turning all locking differentials on, only the rear, or all off.

Tesla has yet to release the Cybertruc’s full off-road features, as apparent in the upcoming feature launch. The recent video also unveiled the highly awaited light bar at the top of the windshield.
Tesla Cybertruck Engineer Wes Morrill responded to TSLA investor @SawyerMerritt’s X post about the new off-roading features of the electric pickup.
Engineer Wes Morrill hinted that the company would roll out more features in the new release than the video outlined. However, he did not clarify when the new off-roading features will arrive apart from releasing the detailed release notes “in a bit.”
