To create value for the organization and for its customers, Tesla is in the process of integrating material movement across businesses, different business processes and energy management. During Investor Day, Tesla revealed the availability of Tesla Electric, which includes an open overnight home charging plan for $30 per month.
Tesla also teased a wireless home charger without providing further information.
Tesla is already providing services that perhaps no other automaker could match. It had so thought-out and robust business processes that will always provide
Tesla offers like a utility company that resells electricity to its consumer’s thanks to its extensive Supercharger network.
It is also an energy company that generates and stores electricity using solar power systems and Megapack storage batteries.
Lastly, Tesla’s Powerwall home batteries help customers use electricity more efficiently.
Tesla’s Virtual Power Plants
Tesla customers can now participate in so-called Virtual Power Plants (VPPs), which make money by selling and sustaining electricity to the grid. Also, Tesla wants a bigger slice of the pie, so it introduced Tesla Electric in December.
The service enables Powerwall users to actively and continually buy electricity when it is the cheapest and sell it to the grid when it is the most expensive, optimizing their electricity costs.
Throughout Investor Day, Tesla announced an updated unlimited overnight charging plan with Tesla Electric.
The plan costs $30 monthly, enabling Tesla Electric users to charge their vehicles for free. It will be available to Tesla owners in Texas in July with a Powerwall and a home with a retail electricity option.
This is now available in homes in the Houston and Dallas metropolitan areas. Tesla claims it can provide the plan because it also runs wind farms, and wind energy is accessible at night.
Tesla’s wireless charger system
Nonetheless, Texas has low electricity rates and free overnight plans. How Tesla will persuade owners to sign up is still being determined.
During the presentation, Tesla stated that people using solar and Powerwall with grid connection save half their electricity bill. This should help Tesla owners reduce their costs even more.
One more intriguing nugget was slipped during Investor Day, and global charging infrastructure head Rebecca Tinucci dropped the mic as she finished her presentation with a “Can’t Forget To Do Cool S***” slide.
A Supercharger station with a diner and a home garage with what looks to be a wireless charging pad underneath a Tesla Model S was shown in the image.
People were overjoyed about the wireless charger system, especially since the Supercharger diner is already in the works in California.
Wireless charging needs to be more efficient and address fundamental issues; simply plugging your car into a charger is sufficient.
If Tesla does consider a wireless charger, it may be because it has discovered a way to make it more efficient.
