Power boost

Tesla enthusiast @eivissacopter shared the screenshots of the leaked document on social media platform X, revealing the addition of a new 412 horsepower rear motor.

Based on this #Model3 #Performance leak from South Korea…
– Weight unchanged from previous LG M3P.
– 355V Nominal Voltage -> LG battery pack!
– 3D3 158kW front motor -> no change!
– 4D2 303kW (new!) -> Performance motors reached peak power at 70-75kph, this one peaks at 110kph! pic.twitter.com/1HMMK32XKJ

If the information turns out to be true, the new rear motor can significantly boost the power of the all-electric sedan. For context, the original Tesla Model 3 only had about 505 horsepower combined output.

The leaked document suggests that the new 4D2 rear motor can deliver an output of 406 horsepower while the front motor still yields 211 horsepower.

Therefore, the upgraded Tesla Model 3 Performance can deliver a combined output of 618 horsepower, indicating an improvement of 113 horsepower from the prior model.

In addition, the rear motor can reportedly hit peak power at 68 mph, up from just 47 mph in the old Tesla Model 3 Performance.

Additional details

Apart from the power boost, the leaked document also revealed the following information about the new Tesla Model 3 Performance:

  • Weight unchanged from previous LG M3P
  • 355V Nominal Voltage (LG battery pack)
  • 3D3 158kW front motor (no change)
  • 230 Ah battery capacity

I've only just spotted it…230Ah!#LG5L #M50F #79kWh #NMC, known since Q4/2021, used in all European M3/MY AWD and M3LR RWD 2023 has…drumroll… pic.twitter.com/6BmnRAkedL
