A senior Tesla executive singled out south Australia during its Investor Day presentation.

Andrew Baglino, Senior Vice President of Powertrain and Energy Engineering at Tesla, used the Australian state as a benchmark for the rest of the world while demonstrating the alleged financial advantages of using home solar power instead of the grid.

Australia is a little bit of a special case; they represent the future – South Australia in particular – solar and wind supplied 70 percent of South Australia’s energy in 2022

Even though Tesla’s giant battery reserve helped the grid get 70% of its energy from renewable sources, Mr. Baglino claimed there were financial advantages for owners supplying solar electricity.

Mr. Baglino promoted the financial advantages of the company’s Tesla Electric products, including solar arrays and its ‘Powerwall’ home battery, by using data gathered from 5,000 customers in South Australia. These customers had purchased Tesla Electric products.

These remarks were made when South Australia launched 12 of its 140 offered sites as part of a border-to-border electric car charging network.

This network is an initiative of the State Government, and it is being carried out in collaboration with Jet Charge, Chargefox, and RAA Charge.

The Premier of South Australia, Peter Malinauskas, was present at a ceremony to mark the opening of 59 charging stations for electric vehicles, which were spread out across 12 locations.
