It appears that Tesla has made a significant advancement toward Cybertruck production, implying the highly awaited EV will really arrive this year.
The American automaker has reportedly secured a hundred-dollar order for Cybertruck’s interior components, Electrek reports citing a South Korean media outlet 매경닷컴.
About the contract
The report indicated that interior auto parts maker Seoyon E-Hwa confirmed the news, disclosing that Tesla’s order totals over $227 million.
“It has been confirmed that Seoyeon E-Hwa has won orders for all A, B, and C pillars for Tesla Cybertruck. The parts contract period is until 2028, and related sales are expected to reach 300 billion won.”

For context, the “A” pillar connects the vehicle’s body and roof. The “B” pillar is at the center of front and rear windows. Meanwhile, the “C” pillar is located between the glass.
It is also worth noting that 300 billion won equates to almost $230 million in interior panels.
Seoyeon E-Hwa may produce the Cybertruck components in the US
Interestingly, Seoyeon E-Hwa already has an existing partnership with Hyundai. According to the report, it has built US production plants to supply Hyundai and Kia’s domestic manufacturing.
Notably, Seoyon E-Hwa’s primary interior products consist of door panels, center consoles, headliners, package trays, etc. Meanwhile, its exterior products include bumpers and seats for commercial cars for the exterior.
Considering that Tesla will begin Cybertruck production in Texas, there is a high possibility that interior panels will come from Seoyeon E-Hwa’s US plants.
However, Seoyeon Ihwa officially stated that the project is “still underway internally, adding that “there is nothing to say about the order due to the conclusion of a confidentiality agreement.”
