Tesla fan @DirtyTesLa, followed by CEO Elon Musk on Twitter, shared on the social media platform that the American automaker amended the recently released Full Self-Driving (FSD) transfer terms.

Twitter user @DirtyTesLa’s observations indicate that the automaker decided to allow the FSD suite to remain the EV even after the first owner resells it. It contradicts the initial terms of the FSD transfer program, particularly written in clause 4:

“4. The Full Self-Driving capability can only be transferred once and so cannot be transferred to another vehicle or to another person, even if the vehicle is privately sold. This offer cannot be combined with any other promotion, and is not redeemable for cash.”

Tesla initially wrote in FSD vehicle transfer terms

Tesla to enable next owner to keep the FSD suite

As @DirtyTesLa stated, the FSD suite will remain “with the new car in the event of private sale.”

Before the amendment of the reported term, the Tesla fan got a “100% clarification” from the automaker that it will now allow the FSD suite to stay in the

EV once it uses another Tesla account, even in case of a private resale.

Tesla’s move to change the #4 in the FSD vehicle transfer terms will undoubtedly impress most Tesla owners and potential customers as it clarifies concerns regarding the FSD suite’s transferability in the event of private resale.

It must also be noted that clause 8 gives Tesla authority to remove the FSD technology from a vehicle if it proves any breach of terms.

Tesla will also launch this FSD transfer program in China even though it has yet to launch autonomous driving technology there.

This strategy will significantly aid the automaker in boosting its sales and deliveries this quarter amid the looming production slowdown due to factory upgrades.
