American EV giant Tesla has relaunched its referral program in Europe, following the US and Australia. As part of the announcement, the brand’s European Twitter account posted instructions on how customers can access “Loot Box,” which encompasses the offered referral credits.
“Help accelerate the world’s transition to sustainable energy -and earn awards in the process.
Every time a friend or family member purchases a Tesla product with your referral link, you will both receive Loot Box Credits. You can redeem your credits for software upgrades, Supercharging kilometers and more.
Earn 10,000 credits when the person you refer takes delivery by March 31, 2023.”

In hindsight, Tesla briefly withdrew the referral program amid increasing demand. Now, the automaker is once again offering incentives for customers referring and being referred to buy its electric vehicles.
Tesla’s referral program incentives
Tesla’s official website offers European customers 100 credits when referred by an existing Tesla EV owner. On the other hand, Tesla would grant the referrer 2,000 credits for the successful purchase of the buyer.
However, the incentives would include an additional complimentary 5,000 Supercharging kilometers along with the 100 credits for the buyer if the buyer accepts delivery before Q1 ends. Meanwhile, the referrer’s initial 2,000 credits would increase to 10,000.
Teslarati reports that the Tesla Loot Box only displays a few available items as of now, which are mainly Supercharging kilometers. Apparently, the first launch of the referral program allowed Tesla owners to save up credit points to access the fun offerings, including the following:
- drive the boring machine of the Boring Company
- drag race using a Roadster
That said, many customers may be anticipating these incentives to return soon.
Notably, the referral program covers the purchase of any Tesla EVs in the company’s S3XY lineup.
Another interesting offer is that buyers and referrers are allowed to trade in credits for Supercharging kilometers, upgrades (such as acceleration boosts), or merchandise.
That said, customers can trade their 1,500 credit points for 500 kilometers of Supercharging. Meanwhile, 5,000 credit points can be exchanged for 5,000 kilometers of Supercharging. The acceleration boost would cost 9,500 credit points.
