Leading American automaker Tesla continues to ramp up the production of the highly awaited Cybertruck at its Gigafactory Texas, as spied by prevalent drone operator Joe Tegtmeyer.
Drone video highlights
Tesla successfully launched the Cybertruck’s Delivery Event on November 30, 2023. Since then, the Musk-led automaker’s Giga Texas has been buzzing with activity to accelerate the production of the all-electric pickup truck.
Interestingly, longtime Giga Texas observer and drone operator Joe Tegtmeyer released a new video from the production hub that showed Cybertruck and Model Ys in the site’s outbound lot.
According to Tegtmeyer, Tesla is currently accelerating the production of the Cybertruck with a higher volume than the prior week. Unfortunately, counting the specific number of the Cybertrucks was challenging due to the constant movement of the units.
As soon as the Cybertrucks are ready, Tesla loads and ships them outside the factory, as shown in the released video. The drone operator also noted that Tesla seemed to pick up and dispatch the Cybertrucks quite rapidly yesterday, along with the Model Y crossovers.
Initial deliveries
In hindsight, Tesla initially kicked off the Cybertruck deliveries at a special event at Giga Texas on November 30.
However, Tesla only managed to deliver “a dozen or so” of the Cybertruck at that time.
Since then, an increasing number of the electric pickup’s “Foundation Series” limited launch editions have been reaching its customers.
Other noteworthy observations
Interestingly, the drone video footage revealed more interesting construction changes at Giga Texas.
One viewer even observed new hardware that is either a shield holder-transporter or concrete liner installation, hinting at a potential tunneling project at the factory.
Mr. Tegtmeyer researched the matter and discovered that the hardware seems to be the equipment found on The Boring Company’s website involved in its Prufrock tunneling system.
The Cybertruck’s production ramp-up is indeed a piece of good news for its numerous reservation holders. Previous reports suggest that the Cybertruck already surpassed 2 million reservations in mid-September 2023.
